Today despite rain I headed to Des Plaines to chalk for the Des Plains Art Council at the Taste of Des Plaines. It was a great time, the rain didn’t dampen the mood at all!

As per my usual, I drew this freehand, extemporaneously and with no paint… although the pavement was damp (despite all the best efforts of everyone on the great teams who helped make this day possible)… so, my chalk turned to paste and sometimes even liquid watercolor type paint.

Just a slight challenge.. I had to rethink some concepts and execute a way for people to stand “on” the 3D with out wet shoes being a problem. I think it came out very nice:
